Target Information
Peroxiredoxin (Prx)는 세포 증식, 분화, 세포사와 관련된 퍼옥시다제 계열 단백질입니다. 약 50여 종의 동종 단백질이 존재하며, 활성 부위의 시스테인 잔기와 티올 특이적 항산화 활성을 특징으로 합니다.
포유류 Prx는 6개의 멤버로 구성되며, typical 2-Cys, atypical 2-Cys, 1-Cys Prx로 구분됩니다. Prx VI를 제외한 다른 2-Cys Prx는 thioredoxin, thioredoxin reductase, NADPH를 이용하는 thioredoxin-dependent peroxidase(TPx) 활성을 가집니다.
Prx 단백질은 20–30 kDa 크기이며 세포 내 위치가 다양합니다. Prx I, II, VI는 세포질에, Prx III는 미토콘드리아에, Prx IV는 소포체 및 분비 경로에, Prx V는 퍼옥시좀, 미토콘드리아, 세포질 등 복합적인 분포를 보입니다.
