Product Specific Information

The CX5 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse NKG2D, a lectin-like molecule expressed on both human and mouse NK cells. Mouse NKG2D binds to retinoic acid-inducible RAE-1 alpha, beta, gamma, delta, epsilon, and the minor histocompatibility molecule H60. It can costimulate multiple NK activation receptors through the DAP12/DAP10 adaptor molecules. NKG2D is expressed by spleen and liver NK cells, NK1.1⁺ thymocytes, in vitro activated LAK cells, and a subset of splenic NKT cells.

Applications Tested: Tested on mouse splenocytes at ≤0.25 µg/test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
Antibody should be titrated for optimal performance.

Light Sensitivity: This tandem dye is sensitive to photo-induced oxidation. Protect vial and stained samples from light.

Target Information

Natural killer (NK) cells are lymphocytes that can mediate lysis of certain tumor and virus-infected cells without prior activation. NK cells regulate humoral and cell-mediated immunity and express calcium-dependent (C-type) lectins involved in NK cell function. The NKG2 gene family encodes type II transmembrane proteins with C-type lectin domains, located within the NK complex region containing several NK-expressed lectin genes.
