This MILAN8R monoclonal antibody recognizes human and mouse extracellular signal-regulated kinases 1 and 2 (ERK1/2, also known as p44/p42 or MAPK3/1) when phosphorylated on T202/Y204.

Recombinant mouse monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. These antibodies are generated from specific genes encoding the desired antibodies, cloned into an expression vector, and expressed in vitro.
Advantages of recombinant antibodies include improved specificity and lot-to-lot consistency.

It is recommended that the antibody be titrated carefully for optimal performance in the intended assay.

Target Information

ERK1 and ERK2 are widely expressed kinases involved in regulating meiosis, mitosis, and postmitotic cellular functions.
They are activated by various stimuli, including growth factors, cytokines, viral infections, G protein-coupled receptor ligands, and transforming agents.
Upon activation of receptor tyrosine kinases, Ras interacts with Raf, which phosphorylates MEK1/2. MEK1/2 then phosphorylates ERK1/2 on tyrosine/threonine residues.
Activated ERKs phosphorylate cytoplasmic targets or translocate to the nucleus to activate transcription factors such as c-Fos and Elk-1.
