Product Specific Information
- In Western Blot, this antibody recognizes a band at approximately 98 kDa and may also detect one at ~80 kDa (beta form).
- Antigen retrieval (EDTA buffer, microwave) is recommended prior to IHC on paraffin tissues.
- This antibody does not immunoprecipitate.
- For IHC and ICC/IF, a dilution of 1:200 with tyramide amplification is recommended; demonstrates nuclear staining.
- Suggested positive control: P3X (murine plasmocytoma) cell lysates.
Target Information
Blimp-1 (B lymphocyte maturation protein-1) is a nuclear protein containing five zinc fingers at its carboxy terminus. It acts as a transcriptional repressor essential for the terminal differentiation of B lymphocytes and monocyte/macrophages. Blimp-1 is expressed in terminally differentiated epithelial cells, retinal neurons, and other lineage cells. It also plays a role in repressing beta-interferon (IFN-β) and c-myc gene expression.
