Target Information
The PKC family of serine/threonine kinases, including PRKCA (PKC alpha), is activated intracellularly by signal transduction pathways. In humans, at least 12 different PKC isoforms have been identified with distinct tissue distribution, subcellular localization, and substrate specificity. Conventional PKC isoforms (alpha, beta I, beta II, gamma) are Ca²⁺- and phospholipid-dependent. PKC family members phosphorylate diverse protein targets, playing key roles in cellular signaling, adhesion, transformation, and cardiac contractility regulation.
