Product Specific Information
Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
This biotin-conjugated, affinity-purified antibody is directed against human MEK2 protein. Cross-reactivity is expected with human, mouse, and rat based on sequence identity of the peptide immunogen. This antibody does not react with the MEK1 isoform.
Target Information
MAP2K2 (MEK2) is a dual specificity serine/threonine kinase that plays a critical role in mitogen growth factor signal transduction. MEK2 (MAPKK2) activates ERK1/2 and MAPK enzymes by phosphorylating both residues within the threonine/glutamate/tyrosine (TEY) motif in the activation loop.
MEK1 and MEK2 are activated by dual phosphorylation on serine 218 and 222 in the activation loop. Threonine 292 of MEK1 is phosphorylated by ERK2, providing a negative feedback loop that suppresses MEK1 activation.
