Target Information
Cytokeratin pan belongs to a subfamily of intermediate filament proteins characterized by biochemical diversity, represented in human epithelial tissues by at least 20 different polypeptides.
Cytokeratins range in molecular weight between 40–68 kDa and have an isoelectric point of pH 4.9–7.8.
Each cytokeratin subtype is expressed in specific epithelial tissues and correlates with the degree of differentiation or maturation.
Cytokeratin expression profiles are widely used to distinguish epithelial malignancies and are valuable tools in immunohistochemistry, cytopathology, and flow cytometry.
Their expression varies depending on cell type, differentiation stage, growth environment, and disease state, making them important markers in cancer research and tumor diagnostics.
