Product Specific Information
This TULY56 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD56 (Neural Cell Adhesion Molecule, NCAM). CD56 is a glycosylated transmembrane molecule expressed by neurons and involved in homotypic adhesion of neural cells. In the hematopoietic system, CD56 is expressed on NK and NKT cells.
- Crossreactivity: Rhesus macaque
- Reported Applications: Flow cytometric analysis
- Tested Applications: Pre-diluted and validated for flow cytometry using human peripheral blood cells (5 µL/test).
- Instrument Compatibility: Optimized for UV (355 nm) laser-based cytometers.
- Buffer Recommendation: Use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (SB-4401) or Brilliant Stain Buffer (00-4409-75) to minimize polymer dye interactions.
- Light Sensitivity: Protect vial and stained samples from light.
- Fixation Compatibility: Stable in IC Fixation Buffer or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution for up to 3 days at 4°C. Compatible with short-term methanol fixation (≤1 hour).

Target Information
CD56 (NCAM) is a transmembrane glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin family involved in cell adhesion, migration, axonal growth, and synaptic plasticity. It is expressed on neurons, NK cells, and T cells. CD56 serves as a neuroendocrine marker and is associated with neuroectodermal-derived tumors such as retinoblastoma, medulloblastoma, astrocytoma, and neuroblastoma.
