Product Specific Information

The SHLR17 monoclonal antibody reacts with human interleukin (IL)-17F. IL-17F is a homodimeric, 34 kDa member of the IL-17 family, which includes IL-17(A), B, C, D, and E (IL-25).
IL-17A and IL-17F are preferentially produced by Th17 cells, with overlapping yet distinct functions.
IL-17F binds to a heterodimer of IL-17RA and IL-17RC, inducing secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines, and promoting neutrophil recruitment.

Applications Reported:
This antibody is suitable for intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Pre-titrated and validated for intracellular staining of TH17-polarized normal human peripheral blood cells.
Use at 5 µL (0.5 µg) per test (100 µL final volume). Cell count: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Excitation / Emission / Laser:
488–561 nm excitation; 578 nm emission; compatible with Blue, Green, Yellow-Green lasers.

Filtration:
0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

IL-17F (Interleukin 17F, CTLA-8) is a cytokine of the IL-17 family produced by activated T cells, mast cells, and basophils.
It is involved in allergic airway inflammation and induces cytokines, chemokines, and adhesion molecules in various cell types.
IL-17F acts via the IL-17R receptor, enhancing chemokine production and recruiting monocytes and neutrophils.
It also promotes TNFα, IL-1β, IL-6, and IL-8 production, contributing to chronic inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and multiple sclerosis.
TGF-β and IL-23 are required for Th17 cell differentiation and maintenance.
IL-17F exists as a homodimer and inhibits angiogenesis while inducing IL-2, TGFB1, and MCP-1 production in endothelial cells.
