Product Specific Information

The 85BRD monoclonal antibody reacts with human interleukin-13 (IL-13), also known as NC30, a 12.5 kDa cytokine secreted by activated T helper cells, CD8+ T cells, and NK cells.
IL-13 suppresses macrophage cytotoxic activity, upregulates IL-1RA expression, and downregulates inflammatory cytokine expression.
This antibody is validated for intracellular staining and flow cytometric analysis.
Excitation: 488–561 nm; Emission: 578 nm; Compatible lasers: Blue, Green, Yellow-Green.
Post-manufacturing filtration: 0.2 µm.

Target Information

IL-13 is an immunoregulatory cytokine produced mainly by activated Th2 cells. It modulates inflammatory and immune responses by down-regulating macrophage activity and reducing pro-inflammatory cytokine production.
IL-13 plays a key role in allergen-induced asthma independent of IgE and eosinophils, regulates B cell maturation, and promotes IgE isotype switching.
The IL-13 gene is located in a cytokine gene cluster on chromosome 5q, near IL4, IL3, IL5, and CSF2 genes.
