Product Specific Information
- For Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- For formalin-fixed tissues: Heat tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, then cool at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
The Myogenic determination gene (MyoD) was first identified by its ability to convert embryonic mouse fibroblast cells into muscle cells. Forced expression of the MyoD (human homolog: myf3) gene can activate muscle-specific genes or induce muscle cell conversion in various normal and neoplastic cells.
The regulatory domain of MyoD includes a 70-amino-acid region containing a basic DNA-binding motif and a helix-loop-helix (HLH) dimerization motif. Other genes sharing homology in the HLH domain include myf5, myogenin (myf4), and myf6 (MRF4/herculin).
