Target Information
Matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) 계열 단백질은 세포외기질의 분해에 관여하며, 배아 발달, 생식, 조직 재형성 등의 정상 생리 과정뿐 아니라 관절염 및 전이 등의 병리적 과정에도 관련됩니다. 대부분의 MMP는 비활성 전구체 형태로 분비되어 세포외 단백질분해효소에 의해 절단되어 활성화됩니다.
MMP-26 단백질은 type IV collagen, fibronectin, fibrinogen, casein, vitronectin, α1-antitrypsin, α2-macroglobulin, IGFBP1을 분해하며, MMP9을 절단하여 활성화합니다. 또한 대부분의 MMP와 달리 보존된 C-말단 단백질 도메인이 결여되어 있습니다.
