Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

IL-1 alpha (Interleukin-1 alpha) is a proinflammatory cytokine expressed by monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells.
It is encoded by the IL1A gene and signals through receptors IL-1RI and IL-1RII, shared with IL-1 beta.
Located on chromosome 2q13, IL-1 alpha plays a key role in innate host defense by inducing other proinflammatory cytokines and acute-phase responses.
Activity is regulated by IL-1 Receptor Antagonist (IL-1RA), which blocks receptor binding.
IL-1 alpha contributes to immune responses, inflammation, and hematopoiesis, and is processed and released upon cell injury to induce apoptosis.
High IL-1 alpha levels are linked to chronic inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and multiple sclerosis.
It also regulates NF-kappaB, MAPK, and promotes IL6, COX-2, and NO production.
