This antibody is predicted to react with equine, mouse, and rat based on sequence homology.

Recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific. They consist of multiple different recombinant monoclonal antibodies, combining the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies with the specificity and consistency of monoclonal antibodies.

These antibodies recognize multiple epitope sites on the target, providing higher detection sensitivity for low-abundance targets. Each lot is reproducible, eliminating biological variability typically associated with polyclonal antibody production.

Target Information

Claudin-8 is a member of the claudin family of integral membrane proteins responsible for forming tight junction strands. These junctions are linked to the actin cytoskeleton via ZO-1. Claudin-8 is expressed in distal nephron segments, where it may function as a paracellular cation barrier protein. It is also expressed in the inner ear and bladder epithelium umbrella cell tight junctions.
