Product Specific Information
- 1 µg/mL of MA5-45535 was sufficient for detection of GABA(B)R2 in 20 µg of rat brain membrane lysate by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.
- Detects approximately 105 kDa. No cross-reactivity against GABA(B)R1.
- This antibody was formerly sold as clone S81-2.
Target Information
The multi-pass membrane protein GABBR2 belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 3 family and GABA-B receptor subfamily.
GABA-B receptors inhibit neuronal activity through G protein-coupled second-messenger systems, regulating neurotransmitter release and ion channel activity.
This receptor forms an active heterodimeric complex with GABA-B receptor subunit 1, and both subunits are required for activity.
Allelic variants of this gene have been associated with nicotine dependence.
