Product Specific Information

  • 1 µg/mL of MA5-45537 was sufficient for detection of GABA(B)R1 in 20 µg of rat brain membrane lysate using colorimetric immunoblot analysis with goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as secondary antibody.
  • Detects approximately 115 kDa.
  • No cross-reactivity against GABA(B)R2.
  • This antibody was formerly sold as clone S93A-49.

Target Information

GABA(B) receptor 1 (GABBR1) acts as a receptor for gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). Its activity is mediated by G-proteins that inhibit adenylyl cyclase, stimulate phospholipase A2, activate potassium channels, inactivate voltage-dependent calcium channels, and modulate inositol phospholipid hydrolysis.
It plays a key role in inhibitory synaptic transmission, regulating neurotransmitter release and neuronal excitability. GABBR1 is involved in synaptic inhibition, hippocampal long-term potentiation, slow-wave sleep, muscle relaxation, and antinociception.
