Product Specific Information
This TULY56 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD56 (Neural Cell Adhesion Molecule, NCAM), a glycosylated transmembrane molecule expressed by neurons and involved in neural cell adhesion. In hematopoietic systems, CD56 is expressed on NK cells and NKT cells.
- TULY56 does not block CMSSB binding, indicating distinct epitopes.
- Performs well after fixation and permeabilization.
- Crossreacts with Rhesus macaque.
- Validated for flow cytometric analysis at 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test.
- eFluor® 506: Excitation 405 nm, Emission 506 nm (Violet laser).
- Recommended filter: 510/20 band pass or equivalent.
- 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Target Information
CD56 (NCAM) is a transmembrane glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin family involved in cell adhesion, migration, axonal growth, and synaptic plasticity. It is expressed in the nervous system and on T cells and NK cells. CD56 is also used as a neuroendocrine marker in tumor diagnostics, including neuroblastoma and medulloblastoma studies. Polysialic modifications reduce CD56-mediated adhesion.
Diseases associated with CD56 dysfunction include rabies and blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasms.
