Product Specific Information
These polyclonal antibodies are of rabbit origin and developed by immunizing animals with specific proteins or peptides. The antibodies are affinity purified from rabbit sera and tested for functionality in various research applications.
This antibody is developed for Research Use Only and is non-hazardous and non-infectious in nature.
Predicted to react with Monkey, Pig, Horse, and Rat.
Target Information
TPM4 (Tropomyosin 4) is a member of the tropomyosin family of actin-binding proteins involved in the contractile system of striated and smooth muscles, as well as the cytoskeleton of non-muscle cells.
TPM4 plays a central role in association with the troponin complex in calcium-dependent regulation of vertebrate striated muscle contraction. Tropomyosins are dimers of coiled-coil proteins that polymerize end-to-end along actin filaments, providing stability and regulating access of other actin-binding proteins.
In muscle cells, they control muscle contraction by modulating the binding of myosin heads to actin filaments. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
