This antibody reacts specifically with Histone H3 acetylated at Lysine 27 (H3K27ac) and shows no cross-reactivity with other acetylated lysines in histone H3.

The N-terminal tail of histone H3 can undergo multiple post-translational modifications, including methylation, acetylation, and phosphorylation, which influence chromatin structure and gene expression.
