Product Specific Information
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates for production.
Advantages include:
- Improved specificity and sensitivity
- Lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal origin-free formulation
- Broader immunoreactivity due to the large rabbit immune repertoire
Target Information
CD1a is a non-polymorphic MHC Class I-related cell surface glycoprotein expressed in association with β2-microglobulin. It is found on cortical thymocytes, Langerhans cells, interdigitating cells, certain T-cell leukemias, and in histiocytosis X.
CD1a proteins mediate the presentation of lipid and glycolipid antigens to T cells. The human genome contains five CD1 family genes (CD1a–e) located on chromosome 1, differing in localization and ligand specificity. CD1a localizes to the plasma membrane and early endocytic vesicles. Alternative splicing variants have been observed, though their biological significance is unclear.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
