Product Specific Information
Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Anti-PARL antibody is specific towards PARL. BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity with Human, Mouse, Rat, Chicken, and Primate based on 100% sequence homology. Cross-reactivity with PARL (presenilin associated, rhomboid-like) from other sources has not been determined.
Target Information
This gene encodes a mitochondrial integral membrane protein. Following proteolytic processing, a small peptide is formed and translocated to the nucleus. The gene may be involved in signal transduction through regulated intramembrane proteolysis of membrane-tethered precursor proteins. Variation in this gene has been associated with increased risk for type 2 diabetes. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
