Product Specific Information

Description:
The HIR2 monoclonal antibody reacts with human glycophorin A, a sialoglycoprotein expressed by erythroid precursors and mature circulating red cells.

Applications Reported:
This HIR2 (GA-R2) antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
This antibody has been pre-diluted and tested by flow cytometry of normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended usage is 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test (final volume 100 µL). Cell number may range from 10⁵ to 10⁸ cells/test.

Fluorochrome Information:
Brilliant Ultra Violet™ 661 (BUV661) is a tandem dye emitting at 660 nm, optimized for cytometers with an ultraviolet (355 nm) laser. Ensure instrument compatibility.

Staining Buffer Recommendation:
When using multiple Super Bright, Brilliant Violet™, or Brilliant Ultra Violet™ conjugates, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (SB-4401-42) or Brilliant Stain Buffer™ (00-4409-75) to minimize non-specific interactions.

Light Sensitivity:
This dye is sensitive to photo-induced oxidation. Protect vial and stained samples from light.

Fixation:
Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (00-8222-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (00-5333-54) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark with minimal impact on brightness and FRET efficiency.

Target Information

CD235a (Glycophorin A, GPA) is a single-pass membrane sialoglycoprotein expressed in mature erythrocytes and erythroid precursor cells. It carries blood group M and N specificities and may act as a barrier to cell fusion, preventing red blood cell aggregation. CD235a also functions as a receptor for Sandei virus, parvovirus, and Streptococcus adhesin Hsa.
