Glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF)는 중추 및 말초 신경세포의 생존에 중요한 인자로, 신장과 장 신경계 발달에 필수적입니다.
GDNF의 생리학적 반응에는 세포막 표면 수용체인 GDNFRα(GFR alpha-1)가 필요합니다.
GFRα-1은 GDNF에 특이적으로 결합하며 Ret 단백질 티로신 키나아제(PTK)의 활성화를 매개합니다.
따라서 GDNF, GFRα 및 Ret PTK는 복합체를 형성하여 GDNF 신호를 전달하고 그 기능을 매개합니다.
