Product Specific Information

PA1-083 detects CRM1 (chromosome region maintenance 1) from bovine retinal extract, human, and mouse samples.
It has been successfully used in Western blot and immunoprecipitation procedures.
By Western blot, this antibody detects an approximately 135 kDa protein representing CRM1 from bovine retinal extract.

The immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues C R(1043) Q A D E E K H K R Q M S V P G S(1058) of human CRM1.
This sequence is 88% conserved in mouse, rat, and Xenopus laevis.
The PA1-083 immunizing peptide (Cat. # PEP-162) is available for use in neutralization and control experiments.

Target Information

Exportin-1 (XPO1) mediates the nuclear export of cellular proteins bearing a leucine-rich nuclear export signal (NES) and RNAs.
In the nucleus, in association with RANBP3, XPO1 binds cooperatively to the NES on its target protein and to the GTPase RAN in its active GTP-bound form (Ran-GTP).
Docking of this complex to the nuclear pore complex is mediated through binding to nucleoproteins.
Upon transit of a nuclear complex into the cytoplasm, disassembly of the complex and hydrolysis of Ran-GTP to Ran-GDP cause release of the cargo from the export receptor.
The directionality of nuclear export is conferred by an asymmetric distribution of the GTP- and GDP-bound forms of Ran between the cytoplasm and nucleus.
