Target Information
EEF2K (Eukaryotic Elongation Factor 2 Kinase) is a highly conserved serine/threonine kinase involved in the calmodulin signaling pathway. Its activity is increased in various cancers, including breast cancer. EEF2K regulates protein synthesis by phosphorylating elongation factor EEF2, preventing its binding to ribosomes and thereby reducing the rate of peptide chain elongation. Activation of EEF2K occurs through upstream kinases such as AMPK or TRPM7.
