Target Information
Neurofilaments are intermediate filament proteins specific to neurons, composed of three major proteins: NF-L, NF-M, and NF-H. NF-H plays a crucial role in maintaining neuronal caliber and is involved in mature axons. Its dysfunction has been associated with neurodegenerative diseases such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
