Western blot analysis using MA1-147 detects an approximately 21 kDa protein.
In IHC (paraffin) applications, this antibody has shown reactivity only with human samples.
Target Information
The RAP1A gene encodes a member of the RAS-related protein family. These proteins share about 50% amino acid identity with classical RAS proteins and have similar structural features. The key difference lies at amino acid position 61, where RAS has glutamine and RAP proteins have threonine. RAP1A counteracts the mitogenic function of RAS by interacting competitively with RAS GAPs and RAF. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified.
