Product Specific Information

The UCHT2 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD5, a 67 kDa protein expressed by most thymocytes, mature T cells, and a subset of B cells.
Signaling through CD5 activates T cells and mediates T-B cell interactions via CD72 binding.
UCHT2 recognizes primate CD5 and is validated for flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Pre-diluted and tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells.
Recommended usage: 5 µL (0.5 µg) per test (100 µL final volume).
Cell count range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Fluorochrome Information:

• Excitation: 405 nm
• Emission: 436 nm
• Recommended filter: 450/50 bandpass (or equivalent)
• Ensure instrument compatibility with Super Bright 436.

Staining Buffer Recommendation:
When using multiple Super Bright dye-conjugated antibodies, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) to minimize non-specific polymer interactions.

Target Information

CD5 is a 67 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein found on mature T-lymphocytes, most thymocytes, and subsets of activated B cells.
It plays a role in T-cell proliferation and immune regulation.
CD5 is expressed in 95% of thymocytes and 72% of peripheral blood lymphocytes, with strong reactivity in T-cell areas of lymph nodes.
Associated diseases include thymus cancer and Richter's Syndrome.
