Target Information
Bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) are part of the TGF-beta superfamily of signaling proteins involved in numerous physiological processes. BMP-10 plays a key role in embryonic heart development by stimulating and maintaining cardiomyocyte proliferation.
BMP-10 signals through receptor complexes such as BMPR-1A, BMPR-1B, ALK1, ALK3, or ALK6, activating SMAD1, SMAD5, and SMAD8 or SMAD-independent pathways.
BMP-10 is structurally related to BMP-9, and both can inhibit endothelial cell proliferation and migration.
