Target Information
Placental Alkaline Phosphatase (PLAP)는 특정 염증성 질환 과정의 조절에 중요한 역할을 하는 효소입니다.
이 효소에는 intestinal, placental, placental-like, liver/bone/kidney 등 네 가지 관련된 형태가 존재합니다.
PLAP는 임신 3기 동안 태반에서 발현되는 막 결합형 isoenzyme (Regan 및 Nagao type)과 반응합니다.
이 항체는 고환 생식세포 종양의 식별에 유용하며, PLAP 양성 체세포 종양은 epithelial membrane antigen (EMA)을 발현합니다.
PLAP의 기능으로는 기질 광물화(matrix mineralization)가 제안되었으나, 해당 효소가 결핍된 생쥐에서도 정상적인 골격 발달이 관찰됩니다.
PLAP는 고인산분해효소증(hypophosphatasia)과 직접적으로 연관되어 있으며, 이 질환은 고칼슘혈증 및 골격 결함을 특징으로 합니다.
증상의 정도와 발현 시기는 돌연변이의 종류에 따라 달라집니다.
