Target Information
N6-methyladenosine (m6A), or methylation of the N6 position of adenosine, is a posttranscriptional modification of RNA. Although analytical methods have been limited, recent evidence indicates that m6A is a common base modification and an important physiological regulator.
m6A levels increase significantly during brain development and are enriched near stop codons, microRNA-binding sites, and UTRs, suggesting a key role in gene expression regulation. This modification is highly conserved between human and mouse.
