Product Specific Information
- IHC (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- For formalin-fixed tissues, heat sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, then cool at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
The inhibin alpha subunit combines with either the beta A or beta B subunit to form a pituitary FSH secretion inhibitor.
Inhibin negatively regulates gonadal stromal cell proliferation and exhibits tumor-suppressor activity.
Serum inhibin levels correlate with granulosa-cell tumor size and can serve as a marker for primary and recurrent disease.
In prostate cancer, inhibin alpha-subunit gene expression is often suppressed and undetectable in poorly differentiated tumor cells.
Due to tissue-specific expression variation, inhibin may act as both a growth/differentiation factor and a hormone.
