Product Specific Information
For immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
The inhibin alpha subunit combines with either the beta A or beta B subunit to form a pituitary FSH secretion inhibitor. Inhibin negatively regulates gonadal stromal cell proliferation and exhibits tumor-suppressor activity. Serum inhibin levels correlate with granulosa-cell tumor size, making it a useful marker for primary and recurrent disease. In prostate cancer, inhibin alpha-subunit gene expression is suppressed and undetectable in poorly differentiated tumor cells. Expression varies among tissues, suggesting inhibin functions as both a growth/differentiation factor and a hormone.
