Target Information
SIRT2 (Sirtuin 2) is a NAD-dependent deacetylase (NDAC) involved in gene silencing, cell cycle regulation, and DNA damage repair. It may function as a tumor suppressor in human gliomas and serve as a molecular marker for these cells.
SIRT2 also acts as a redox sensor regulating muscle gene expression in response to nutrient status and exercise. It participates in the phosphorylation cascade during mitosis, being phosphorylated in late G2 phase, M phase, and cytokinesis.
