Target Information
MHC (major histocompatibility complex) class II molecules are transmembrane glycoproteins expressed on professional antigen-presenting cells such as macrophages, dendritic cells, and B cells.
Before exposure on the cell surface, these molecules bind endocytosed exogenous antigens, which are then presented to T cells.
The antigen-binding groove between the alpha and beta chains is open at both ends and accommodates peptides 15–24 amino acids long.
