Product Specific Information
The A2MR-a2 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD91, also known as LRP-1 and alpha-2 macroglobulin receptor. CD91 is a 600 kDa type 1 transmembrane protein with alpha and beta chains. The alpha chain interacts with diverse ligands, while the beta chain contains tyrosine phosphorylation motifs that interact with adaptor and signaling proteins. CD91 mediates ligand endocytosis, trafficking to lysosomes, and is expressed in monocytic lineage cells, dendritic cells, hepatocytes, fibroblasts, adipocytes, neurons, and syncytiotrophoblasts. It plays roles in antigen cross-presentation, cell migration, and activation of signaling cascades.
Each product includes one vial of NovaFluor conjugate and one vial of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer.

- Reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested
- Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells.
- Recommended use: 5 µL (0.05 µg) per test (100 µL final volume).
- Applicable cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.
Important Notes
- NovaFluor dyes are not compatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes such as propidium iodide, 7-AAD, and DAPI.
- Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains with NovaFluor dyes.
- Use CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01) for optimal staining.
- Add 5 µL per sample to antibody cocktails before combining with cells.
- For single-color controls, use 5 µL per 100 µL of cell sample (10³–10⁸ cells).

NovaFluor conjugates utilize Phiton™ technology, based on novel nucleic acid dye structures that provide engineered fluorescent signatures optimized for minimal spillover and spread.

Target Information
The encoded protein functions as an endocytic receptor involved in intracellular signaling, lipid homeostasis, and apoptotic cell clearance. It is necessary for A2M-mediated clearance of amyloid precursor protein and beta-amyloid, components of amyloid plaques in Alzheimer’s disease. Expression decreases with age and is reduced in Alzheimer’s patient brain tissue.
