Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of NFκB p105/p50 only when phosphorylated at Ser923.
Target Information
NF-κB is a nuclear transcription factor activated by various extracellular and intracellular stimuli such as cytokines, UV radiation, stress, injury, and bacterial or viral products. It regulates cellular processes including growth, differentiation, proliferation, apoptosis, and inflammation.
NFKB1 (p50) is synthesized as a p105 precursor protein containing conserved domains for nuclear localization, DNA binding, and dimerization. It forms homodimers or heterodimers with p65 to create functional NF-κB complexes. NF-κB plays key roles in immune response and is implicated in diseases such as AIDS, metastatic cancer, and rheumatoid arthritis.
