Antibody detects endogenous levels of CD31 only when phosphorylated at Tyr690.
Target Information
CD31 (platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1, PECAM-1) is an inhibitory coreceptor involved in regulation of T cell and B cell signaling via dual ITIM motifs. Upon phosphorylation, these motifs provide docking sites for protein-tyrosine phosphatases. CD31 is expressed throughout the vascular compartment, mainly at cell junctions. Its N-terminal Ig-like domain mediates homophilic binding, facilitating cell-cell interactions. CD31 plays roles in integrin-mediated adhesion, transendothelial migration, angiogenesis, apoptosis, immunoreceptor signaling regulation, autoimmunity, macrophage phagocytosis, IgE-mediated anaphylaxis, and thrombosis. It is a key regulatory molecule in the vascular system.
