Target Information

Cathepsins은 lysosomal proteolytic system의 주요 구성 요소인 papain 계열 cysteine proteinase입니다.
Cathepsin F 전구체는 긴 proregion(251개 아미노산)을 가지며, C-terminal 도메인은 cathepsin L-like 효소의 pro-segment와 유사하고, N-terminal 도메인은 cystatin-like fold를 형성한다고 예측됩니다.
이 cystatin-like 도메인은 cysteine protease 억제제의 구조적 특징을 공유하며, 억제 활성에 중요한 요소를 포함합니다.

CTSF 유전자는 484개의 아미노산으로 구성된 단백질을 암호화하며, 19개 잔기의 signal peptide를 포함합니다. Cathepsin F는 5개의 잠재적 N-glycosylation 부위를 가지고 있으며, mannose 6-phosphate receptor 경로를 통해 endosomal/lysosomal compartment로 이동할 수 있습니다.
Cathepsin F 유전자는 다양한 조직에서 발현되며, 염색체 11q13 영역에 위치합니다.
