Target Information

Kremen (Kringle containing protein marking the eye and the nose) proteins are type I transmembrane proteins containing extracellular kringle, WSC, and CUB domains with an intracellular region lacking conserved motifs.
Kremens bind a subset of secreted Dickkopf proteins (Dkk 1, 2, and 4) with high affinity, modulating the canonical Wnt signaling pathway via the Wnt–Frizzled–LRP5/6 receptor complex.
Recent studies indicate that KREMEN2 regulates bone remodeling, suggesting potential therapeutic relevance in bone loss disorders.
