- In direct ELISAs, approximately 80% cross-reactivity with recombinant bovine IL-5 and recombinant equine IL-5 is observed.
- Approximately 50% cross-reactivity with recombinant porcine IL-5 and recombinant canine IL-5 is observed.
- Approximately 10% cross-reactivity with recombinant human IL-5 is observed.
- Less than 1% cross-reactivity with recombinant rat IL-5, recombinant mouse IL-5, and recombinant rhesus monkey IL-5 is observed.
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
- Endotoxin level: <0.10 EU per 1 µg of antibody (LAL method).
Target Information
IL-5 is a cytokine that acts as a growth and differentiation factor for both B cells and eosinophils. It is a key regulator of eosinopoiesis, eosinophil maturation, and activation. Elevated IL-5 production is associated with asthma and hypereosinophilic syndromes.
The IL-5 receptor is a heterodimer whose beta subunit is shared with IL3 and CSF2 (GM-CSF) receptors. IL-5, IL4, and IL13 form a cytokine gene cluster on chromosome 5q31 and are coordinately regulated by long-range regulatory elements.
