Target Information
GPI-anchored HDL-binding protein 1 (GPIHBP1) is a novel protein involved in the regulation of lipid metabolism. It facilitates the capture of chylomicrons and their interaction with lipoprotein lipase (LpL) in capillaries, enabling triglyceride hydrolysis and uptake by cells. In the absence of GPIHBP1, fats in the bloodstream are not efficiently metabolized.
