Target Information
Alpha2-HS glycoprotein (AHSG) is a serum glycoprotein synthesized by hepatocytes. It consists of two polypeptide chains cleaved from a single mRNA-encoded proprotein. AHSG plays roles in endocytosis, brain development, and bone tissue formation. It is found in the cortical plate of the immature cerebral cortex and bone marrow hemopoietic matrix, suggesting involvement in tissue development, though its exact significance remains unclear.
