PIK3CG (p110 gamma)는 class IB phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase 계열의 유일한 구성원으로, class IA family와 함께 중요한 second messenger인 PIP2를 생성합니다.
PIK3CG는 주로 GPCR 신호 경로 하류에서 작용하며, 세포 간 결합(E-cadherin-mediated adhesion) 및 NK 세포의 세포독성 조절 등 다양한 세포 기능에 관여합니다. 또한, 이 유전자는 골수성 백혈병에서 발견된 염색체 7의 결손 영역에 위치합니다.
