Target Information
The signal sequence receptor (SSR) is a glycosylated endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membrane receptor involved in protein translocation across the ER membrane. SSR consists of two subunits—a 34-kDa glycoprotein encoded by this gene and a 22-kDa glycoprotein.
This gene produces several mRNA species through complex alternative polyadenylation and uniquely employs arrays of non-canonical polyA signal sequences.
