Target Information
CD36, also known as scavenger receptor class B member 3, is a membrane protein expressed on macrophages, platelets, and adipocytes.
It plays roles in lipid metabolism, inflammation, and atherosclerosis, mediating uptake of oxidized LDL, fatty acids, and apoptotic cells.
CD36 interacts with thrombospondin and collagen, and mutations can cause platelet glycoprotein deficiency.
Diseases associated with CD36 include Platelet Glycoprotein IV Deficiency and Coronary Heart Disease 7.
