Target Information
ICAM-2 (Intercellular Adhesion Molecule 2) is a member of the ICAM family, which includes type I transmembrane glycoproteins containing 2–9 immunoglobulin-like C2-type domains. These proteins bind to the leukocyte adhesion receptor LFA-1 and play critical roles in lymphocyte recirculation, NK-cell mediated clearance, and immune surveillance. ICAM-2 mediates adhesive interactions essential for antigen-specific immune responses. Multiple transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified. Diseases associated with ICAM2 include colon carcinoma in situ.
