MEL-14 단일클론 항체는 mouse CD62L을 인식합니다. CD62L은 76 kDa의 selectin 계열 단백질로, neutrophils, monocytes, T, B, NK 세포의 일부 집단에서 발현됩니다.
CD62L은 CD34, glycam-1, MAdCam-1 등 다양한 당화된 glycoprotein에 결합하여 염증 부위의 혈관내피에서 림프구의 rolling 및 말초 림프조직으로의 homing을 매개합니다.

Human CD62L은 74–95 kDa의 glycoprotein으로, selectin family의 adhesion receptor에 속합니다.
L-Selectin은 C-type lectin binding domain, EGF-like domain, SCR domain, transmembrane region, cytoplasmic region으로 구성되어 있습니다.
Human CD62L은 대부분의 leukocyte (lymphocytes, monocytes, polymorphonuclear cells)에 지속적으로 발현되며, 일부 memory T cell에서는 발현이 낮습니다.
