Target Information

This gene encodes a neuronal cell surface protein family member that acts as a splice site-specific ligand for beta-neurexins and may participate in the formation and remodeling of central nervous system synapses. Mutations may be associated with autism and Asperger syndrome. Multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified.
