Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
FTO is a novel protein belonging to the non-heme dioxygenase (Fe(II)- and 2-oxoglutarate-dependent dioxygenases) superfamily. Conservation of amino acid sequences suggests that both 2-oxoglutarate and iron are essential for FTO function. Although the precise role of FTO is not fully understood, it is believed to influence gene activity related to metabolism and fat storage, potentially affecting obesity risk.
